About UK SIM Cards

Get a UK mobile number before you arrive, keep one for banking and WhatsApp, or stock up for your shop. We sell eSIMs sent by email in minutes and physical SIM cards for every major UK network, posted by Royal Mail to the UK and worldwide.

Which UK SIM card do you need?

  • UK eSIM – the fastest option. Three, O2, Lycamobile and VOXI eSIMs arrive as a QR code by email, so you can have a British number before your flight lands. Your phone must support eSIM and be unlocked.
  • Free UK SIM cards – pay as you go SIMs from EE, Three, O2, Vodafone, giffgaff, Lebara, Lycamobile, SMARTY and VOXI from 1p plus postage. Add credit or a bundle when it arrives.
  • Preloaded SIM cards – credit or a data bundle is already on the SIM, so it works the moment you put it in.
  • EU roaming and travel SIMs – activated before posting with EU roaming on. Many UK SIMs can only be activated inside the UK; these arrive ready to use wherever you are.
  • Data SIMs – for 4G/5G routers, mobile WiFi and tablets.
  • Bulk SIM cards – packs of 10, 25, 50 or 100 for shops, resellers and businesses.
  • Bundle activation – already have a SIM? Add a 30-day bundle to your number online.

Physical SIMs are usually dispatched within one working day. Postage is worked out at checkout from the weight of your order: in the UK from £2.95 (Second Class Signed), £3.90 (First Class Signed) or £9.95 for next-day Special Delivery; to Europe from £9.95; and to the rest of the world from £15.95. A single SIM weighs about 20 g, so bigger packs cost a little more to send. eSIMs and bundle activations are emailed, so there is no postage.

Popular with students, visitors and expats

Students arriving for September often order a giffgaff SIM or a Three eSIM before they leave home, so they can open a bank account and register with a GP on day one. Visitors on a short trip usually prefer an activated travel SIM with credit. If you are leaving the UK and want to keep your number, you do not need a new SIM at all – just top it up or use direct top up every few months.

Questions

Will a UK SIM work in my phone? Yes, if the phone is unlocked. Our SIMs are 3-in-1 (standard, micro and nano). If your phone is locked to a network, see our unlock codes.

Do I need a UK address or bank account? No. Pay with PayPal or a card from any country and we post to any address.

Can I keep my number later? Yes – keep using it or top it up regularly. Each network has its own rules about inactive numbers; Ofcom explains your rights as a UK mobile customer.
